The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms in the northeastern states, while a Western Disturbance will bring rain and snow to Northwest India. Southern regions may experience rainfall and thunderstorms, with heavy showers expected in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Northeastern States:

The weather in the Northeastern States is expected to be influenced by a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies and a cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam. These weather systems are likely to bring light to moderate rainfall, with thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms in some areas.

The forecast for the upcoming days indicates light to moderate rainfall at several locations, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms across the Northeastern region. Additionally, isolated hailstorms are expected over northeast Assam, adding to the weather variability in the coming period

Northwest India:

IMD forecasts light to moderate scattered rainfall and snowfall over the Western Himalayan region of Northwest India, with isolated thunderstorms expected in several states. Hailstorm activity is also likely in parts of Rajasthan in the coming days.

  • Weather Systems: A fresh Western Disturbance interacting with easterly winds is likely to influence the region from January 10-12.
