Weather Alert! Heavy Rain Likely over These Regions in Next 24 Hours; Heat Wave Conditions over Gujarat

Due to wind confluence at lower tropospheric levels and supporting upper atmospheric features, fairly widespread rain/thundershowers very likely over Northeast India & Sub- Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and isolated to scattered over rest East India during next 24 hours, says the weather reports in its morning bulletin.

Due to wind confluence at lower tropospheric levels and supporting upper atmospheric features, fairly widespread rain/thundershowers very likely over Northeast India & Sub- Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and isolated to scattered over rest East India during next 24 hours, says the weather reports in its morning bulletin.

Due to trough/wind discontinuity, isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers very likely over central & south peninsular India during next 4-5 days. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places also likely over these regions during the same period.

Scattered rain/Thundershower very likely over Western Himalayan Region

Under the influence of Western Disturbance at mid-tropospheric levels and easterlies at lower tropospheric levels, isolated to scattered rain/thundershower very likely over Western Himalayan Region and isolated over plains of northwest India during 9 to 12 May, 2020. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, hail and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places also likely over these regions during same period.

Heat Wave Conditions in Isolated pockets are very likely over Gujarat state

Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets are very likely over Gujarat state on 8th and West Rajasthan during 8th-9th May, 2020. Maximum Temperatures are likely to remain between 41-44°C over some parts of Madhya Maharshtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka during next 2 days and between 43-45°C over Gujarat state during next 24 hours and gradually fall thereafter.

As per yesterday’s reports, rain/thundershowers observed at a few places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Kerala and Bihar.

maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over West Rajasthan, Saurashtra & Kutch, Assam & Meghalaya, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam while minimum temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Marathwada; at isolated places over Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka.
