During the following three days, the southwest monsoon will move into further parts of Madhya Pradesh, the remaining parts of Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, and the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal. Over the next few days, the monsoon will move into further sections of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Bihar, as well as parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Meanwhile, the present stretch of heavy rain is expected to last for the next four days over northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. Following that, rainfall activity in the area is expected to reduce.
"Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rains quite possible over northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 5 days," the IMD stated in its meteorological advisory. On the 17th of June, 2022, isolated exceptionally high rainfall is also likely over Assam and Meghalaya, as well as Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim."
Over the next three days, rain is expected across Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal. Throughout Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal, broad to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms/lightning/gusty winds is expected over the next 5 days.
Isolated significant rainfall is expected over Jharkhand over the next 5 days; Bihar on the 17th-20th; and Odisha on the 17th and 20th of June, 2022," according to the MeT Department.
During the next four to five days, scattered to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning, as well as gusty winds, is highly possible over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, heavy rain is forecast in isolated areas in Madhya Pradesh until June 20, in Vidarbha until June 19, and in Chhattisgarh until June 21.
During the next several days, the IMD predicts widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning over Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. Meanwhile, rainfall will be scattered to moderately widespread over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal over the next five days.
During the next four to five days, widespread rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning is very likely over the Western Himalayan region, including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, due to the influence of the Western Disturbance at middle tropospheric levels. Rainfall will be scattered to widespread across the plains, including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, until June 20. Rajasthan is also anticipated to see some isolated showers.
