PAU Launches 3-Month Training Course to Boost Young Farmers' Skills in Integrated Crop Production

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is launching a three-month "Integrated Crop Production" training course from August 1 to October 30, 2024, to enhance young farmers' technical skills and promote sustainable agriculture.

The Directorate of Extension Education at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is set to launch a three-month training program titled "Integrated Crop Production" from August 1 to October 30, 2024. This initiative aims to enhance the technical skills of young farmers in agricultural enterprises and resource conservation. The university is now accepting applications from youths aged 20 to 40 who have completed their matriculation.

Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Skill Development), elaborated on the course, stating that the program will provide young farmers with a comprehensive agricultural package. This training is designed to improve the participants' livelihood security by promoting agricultural, social, and economic sustainability.

Interested candidates can obtain application forms from the Krishi Vigyan Kendras in their respective districts, the Skill Development Centre at PAU, or apply online at the university's website, www.pau.edu. The deadline for application submission is July 25, with interviews scheduled for July 30 at 10:00 AM at the Skill Development Centre.

Dr. Kaur highlighted the need for applicants to bring both original and photocopies of their matriculation certificates, birth and age proof certificates, and Aadhaar card. Selected candidates are required to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 1,000, which will be returned to those who complete the course successfully. The course fee is set at Rs 1,000, with additional lodging charges of Rs 300 per month. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded certificates.

Through this training program, young farmers will have a great opportunity to learn vital skills and knowledge that will help develop sustainable farming methods in the region.
