Amid the ongoing Chhath Puja celebrations across the country and people making prasad for the festivities, a massive fire broke out in Bihar's Aurangabad.
Over 30 people were injured after a short circuit caused a gas cylinder to explode, sparking a massive fire. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The tragedy happened when a family was preparing prasad for Chhath Puja at 2:30 in the morning today.
During the firefighting operations, some police officers also suffered injuries. A police officer who had face burns told the media that "We received a call informing us of the fire. When we arrived, we observed individuals attempting to put out the flames. I made an effort to help them. However, as soon as I grabbed a pipe, there was a blast, and I got wrapped in flames. I made an effort to put out the fire and went to the hospital in the official vehicle. A gas cylinder was reported to have exploded."
