Krishi Jagran is introducing a new initiative Farmer – the Journalist to empower the farmers of India on 25th September, 2021 in an elaborated ceremony starting 11 am onwards.
Gone are the days when the “Farmer of India” was considered helpless, uneducated and unempowered. At Krishi Jagran, we have seen the splendid growth of Indian farmers through the journey of 25 years & have come across huge number of farmers who broke all barriers and achieved heights through their innovation, awareness and progressiveness. There are farmers who want to come forward to help and inspire others.
Through Farmer the Journalist, MC Dominic, Editor in Chief of Krishi Jagran & Agriculture World visions to empower the farmers of our country by giving them a platform to document and report their problems, concerns and successes.
Krishi Jagran’s Farmer – the Journalist strives to challenge the typical image of Indian farmers in the urban minds, and it plans to do so by letting the farmers speak for themselves on its platform. This is the core idea of Farmer – the Journalist: the story involves the farmer and shall be told by the farmer. They shall not be mute bearers of loss, they shall be Journalists, documenting their problems and successes alike.
Before, we have also given platform to farmers who have branded their products locally in the agricultural sector so that they could tell their success story to the community. This program, Farmer – the Brand, was launched in 2020 and has since then been an important space for farmers across the country. We have also provided farmers a platform to sell their branded local products online. Furthermore, another one of our initiatives, Farmer First Program, ensures that they have the freedom to bravely speak about the difficulties they have been facing.
Farmer - the Journalist envisages farmers raising their own voices and exploring journalistic experiences. Our mission, as always, is to make the world aware of every aspect of agriculture by farmers based in every nook and corner of India.

Event Highlights:
The event will be moderated by the Editor in Chief of Krishi Jagran & Agriculture World, MC Dominic. Kailash Chaudhary, Minister of State, Department of Agriculture & Farmer Welfare, will be the chief guest of the event and Kamal Patel, Minister, Farmer Welfare & Agriculture Development, Madhya Pradesh will be the Guest of Honor.
