The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Wednesday that heavy rains are predicted in Northeast India, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim during the next few days. Meanwhile, during the following two days, scorching conditions are expected to persist in isolated pockets across Northwest, Central, and neighboring East India.
Rainfall Predictions:
Throughout Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 5 days.
On the 10th and 11th of June, isolated exceptionally heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
Over the next 5 days, isolated/scattered rainfall with thunderstorms/lightning/gusty winds is highly possible in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal. Isolated heavy rain is expected in Bihar today.
Light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorms/lightning likely across Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep over the next 5 days; scattered rainfall over Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Telangana.
Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu on the 8th; South Interior Karnataka on the 12th; Coastal Karnataka on the 10th-12th; and Kerala and Mahe on the 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th of June.
Heatwave Predictions:
Today, a heat wave is a forecast for the Jammu Division, Himachal Pradesh, West Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.
Today and tomorrow, heatwave conditions are expected across Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana, and East Madhya Pradesh. Odisha is predicted to see similar circumstances through June 10.
