Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal presented five lakh tablets to students in government schools on Thursday, saying Haryana was the first state to do so as he launched the e-Adhigam initiative in Rohtak.
These devices have preloaded material, personalized and adaptive learning software, and 2GB of free data. The government plans to provide the device to five lakh kids in grades 10-12. However, it said that Class 11 students will receive them after passing the Class 10 board examinations and qualifying for the next year.

Haryana, according to the Chief Minister, spends "the largest share" of its budget on education. He said that 20,000 crore was spent on education in the current budget alone. He stated that dramatic reforms were being implemented in the school system, and that budget restrictions would not be an obstacle.
Lal stated that the administration will organize two task teams for the education sector. "One task force will work on infrastructure, building, boundary wall, attractiveness, cleanliness, roads, water and toilets, and other necessary school requirements, while the other task team will assure school furniture arrangement, etc." "Within a year, dual benches would be installed in all Haryana schools," he promised.
