Weather report India: The Northern part of the country may witness light to moderate rainfall especially in states like Uttarakhand and some parts of Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile weather in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan will remain dry and warm. Monsoon is likely to withdraw from these regions.
The national capital has been reeling under warm & humid weather since Wednesday (11 September 2019) with the temperature settling 5 notches above normal at 38.2 degrees Celsius, according to local Meteorological office. Weather in Delhi will remain humid till 13th September and rainfall could be expected after that.
Coming towards Central India, here a Low Pressure Area is lying over South Uttar Pradesh & the trough expanding from South Gujarat across Madhya Pradesh. As a result, moderate showers with one or two heavy spells will continue over several parts of Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand light to moderate rainfall will be experienced over Southern part of Gujarat and Konkan & Goa. There will be scattered light to moderate rainfall over parts of Vidarbha and Southeast Rajasthan. In addition, scattered rains are also expected over Chhattisgarh and Madhya Maharashtra.
This year east and northeast India too witnessed good rainfall. At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is extending up to Northeast India across UP, Bihar & West Bengal. Thus rainfall will intensify over Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and it will be moderate to heavy in nature. Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand & Northeast India may also get to see light to moderate rainfall.
Lastly in the absence of no significant weather system in South India, monsoon will remain passive over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema. However, Chennai and Hyderabad could experience light rainfall. Moderate showers are likely over Coastal Karnataka, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and few parts of Telangana. Andaman & Nicobar Islands could also see moderate to heavy showers.
