Krishi Jagran’s Founder and Editor-in-Chief, MC Dominic, addressed the audience at the 7th International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7) in Chiang Mai, Thailand on the second day, May 30, 2023. The four-day event started on May 29 and will continue until June 1, 2023. The event celebrates the power of Thailand’s special grass, Vetivar, which conserves soil and water.
Mr Dominic and several eminent personalities who care about the environment and agriculture have been sharing their views at the event. He informed the people why the agriculture industry is lagging behind and what can be done to fill the void. According to Mr. Dominic, the agriculture industry has not got enough exposure in the media industry, which acts as a medium of communication among people.
He said, “We have the entertainment industry working fine,” but not the agriculture industry. “We need people from media houses who can spread the word of agriculture from the ground,” just like Krishi Jagran’s special edition of Agriculture World magazine is doing as it covers information about the 7th International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7).
Krishi Jagran’s Agriculture Magazine’s special edition for June was launched yesterday, May 29, 2023, on the very first day of the event. Paul Truong, Technical Director of TVNI, Director for Asia and the Pacific, threw enormous light on Krishi Jagran’s effort. Mentioning the Agriculture World magazine, he said, “They have prepared a special edition of our conference.” He also informed the global audience that Agriculture World magazine has over three million subscribers in India.
Krishi Jagran’s presence at the 7th International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is a moment of pride for the country. Richard Grimshaw, OBE–Founder, said, “It has taken a long time, but I feel that now is ‘Vetiver Time’ for India and the world. You and your team have arrived just at the right time and could make a real difference and impact. Most of the critical support data for VS exists and is available, externally and from India. You are quite correct that promotion is critical, and we technical folks are not good at that! The ‘how to’ needs careful thought and good direction, and needs to be focused. We look forward to working with you where we can.”
Having seen the sheer hard work and efforts being made by the team of Krishi Jagran’s Agriculture World, he said, “After a great presentation, I believe sincere commitment by AW and INVN. This is just the beginning of a great new vetiver initiative.”
