In the serene hills of Solan, a determined woman farmer, Mrs. Pinki Devi (W/O Karam Dass) from Village Kothi, P.O. Ghatti, has emerged as a shining example of success in modern horticulture.

Managing 2 acres (10 bigha) of farmland, Pinki Devi has transformed her small landholding into a profitable and sustainable enterprise. Cultivating crops such as tomato, pole beans, and capsicum, she has demonstrated how the right blend of traditional farming knowledge and modern agricultural innovations can unlock remarkable outcomes.

Her turning point came with the adoption of the highly popular hybrid INDAM-13405 for tomato cultivation. By using 15 packets of this hybrid, she achieved exceptional productivity and profitability, elevating her farming to a new level.

This hybrid is distinguished by several powerful features:

  • Plant Type: Indeterminate (ensures continuous growth and harvesting)
  • Fruit Shape: Oblate round
  • Fruit Weight: 90–100 grams, uniform and market-preferred
  • Maturity: 75–80 days

In addition, the hybrid offers multiple advantages:

  • High yield with excellent fruit setting
  • Firm fruits with uniform size and shape
  • Good keeping quality, reducing post-harvest losses
  • Strong adaptability to hilly regions
  • Ideal for long-distance transportation, enabling better mandi prices

With these benefits, Pinki Devi achieved outstanding results:
