Millets quickly became Sudheer’s crop of choice due to their resilience. These drought-resistant crops, with a short growth cycle of just 60-70 days, thrive even in challenging conditions. In addition to their environmental benefits, millets are also packed with essential nutrients, including protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamins and fiber—making them an excellent choice for improving modern diets.
Transforming Millets into a Nutritious Food Staple
Sudheer set out to make millet a household staple comparable to rice and wheat. To achieve this, he developed a unique product line: millet idlis. These idlis, made from Finger Millet, Foxtail Millet, Jowar, and Bajra, offer a healthier alternative to traditional rice-based idlis. Packed with nutrients and easy to digest, they are ideal for individuals with digestive issues.
But Sudheer’s vision goes beyond just healthy food—he aims to create a positive social impact by supporting tribal farmers. While 50% of the millets used in his idlis come from his own farm, the other 50% are sourced from tribal communities. By paying these farmers above the market price for their produce, Sudheer ensures that they receive fair compensation, helping them sustain their livelihoods.
