K. Chandrashekhar Rao, also known as KCR, is an Indian politician who currently serves as the first and current Chief Minister of the Indian state of Telangana. He was born on February 17, 1954.
KCR's vision for Telangana is to lead it into a new era of inclusive and sustainable development. He is committed to developing the state's infrastructure, improving the standard of living for its citizens, and promoting economic growth.
As a seasoned politician, KCR has held various political positions throughout his career. He was a member of the Telugu Desam Party and later founded the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in 2001, a regional political party that advocates for the formation of a separate state of Telangana. In 2014, Telangana was carved out of the state of Andhra Pradesh, and KCR became its first Chief Minister.
