
The Vetiver Handicrafts Training with vetiver Grass will be held at the Sahyadri Research Centre in Idukki, Kerala on March 6, 7, and 8, 2025. The event is organized by IVF (India Vetiver Foundation), supported by Trust Manava Seva Dharma Samvardhini Trust and is delivered by Peermade Development Society (PDS), Peermade, Idukki Dist, Kerala. The event aims to train participants to make handcrafted goods using vetiver grass.
Workshop Schedule, Training Details and Accommodation
The training will commence on March 6 at 10 AM with a brief introduction to the Peermade Development Society (PDS) and the Vetiver Project.

Day 1: Focus on processing Vetiver leaves, followed by practical, hands-on training where participants will learn under expert guidance.

Day 2: Attendees will be trained in round box making.

Day 3: Focus on cube-shaped box-making. The step-by-step demonstration by trainers will ensure that participants master the techniques effectively.
The training will be delivered in Malayalam and will be translated into Tamil, English, and Hindi by the translators. Participants will gain hands-on experience in processing Vetiver leaves and crafting unique handicrafts. This training program offers a unique opportunity for artisans, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts to explore the potential of Vetiver-based handicrafts. A total of 20 seats are available for this training session.
Accommodation and Costs
Accommodation for delegates will be available at the Sahyadri Research Centre, where the workshop will take place. The trainer costs will be borne with support from the Manava Seva Dharma Samvardhini Trust. However, delegates will need to bear their expenses for boarding, lodging, and logistics.
