On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy distributed funds for the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme for the fourth straight year by depositing Rs 1,090.76 crore into the bank accounts of 51.12 lakh individuals.
During an event in Tenali, Guntur district, the CM did so by clicking a button in the Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
"The state will be satisfied if the farmer is happy. As a result, the government is implementing effective farmer programmes, from which more than 50 lakh farmer households benefit," Jagan Mohan Reddy stated.
After releasing Rs 1,090.76 crore under the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme, which benefits 51.12 lakh farmers, and Rs 76.99 crore under the Input Subsidy scheme, which benefits 91,237 agriculture and horticulture farmers who suffered crop loss due to natural calamities in December last, the Chief Minister addressed a large public meeting.
"Under the Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan and Input Subsidy schemes, the government has so far invested Rs 27,062.09 crore and Rs 1911.78 crore, respectively. Once the YSR Congress came to power, a massive Rs 1,45,750 crore was spent on different social programmes in the state," he stated.
"Now, with the grace of God, we are conducting two wonderful programmes for farmers in our Guntur district, Tenali. Today, more than half a crore farmer households will profit. For the fourth year in a row, the YSR Rythu Bharosa - PM Kisan funds have been released as the last instalment. "All of this happened in three years and eight months after we took power," Jagan Mohan Reddy stated.
He added, "secondly, we are launching a scheme to compensate farmers who have lost crops with input subsidies."
"This year, as the third instalment, we are depositing Rs 1090 crore into the accounts of 51.12 lakh farmers at a cost of Rs 2,000 each. If we consider the help we are now providing, we have provided Rs 54,000 to each household over the last four years under the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan programme. If we add Rs 13,500 to each farmer family that receives YSR Rythu Bharosa assistance next year, every farmer family would have Rs 67,500 in their hands over the following five years, solely through our Rythu Bharosa scheme."
Farmers received Rs 27,000 crore in assistance in four years, he claimed.
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy added, "In case of crop loss in any season, we pay compensation at the conclusion of that season. Taking another step in the same direction and keeping that promise, we are putting '77 crore as input subsidy straight into farmers' accounts today, considering the loss they sustained before the conclusion of Rabi 2022. This would aid 91,237 farmers who suffered losses in December as a result of Cyclone Mandous."
"If we add this Rs 77 crore that is currently being deposited, we would have granted Rs 1,911 crore in input subsidies to 22.22 lakh farmers before the end of our four-year term."
According to the Chief Minister, the average yield of food grains during the previous Chandrababu government's term was 154 lakh tonnes. Under the current government's tenure, the yield has climbed by 12 lakh tonnes to 166 lakh tonnes.
He stated that the TD government spent Rs 40,237 crore on grain collecting during a five-year period. "Yet, during our government's tenure, we spent Rs 55,444 crore on grain collection — in 3 years and 8 months."
"Andhra Pradesh is the only state that provides support not just to patta (title deed) farmers, but also to farmers with assigned lands, tenant farmers from impoverished socioeconomic groups, farmers with ROFR pattas, and farmers farming temple land. Apart from that, we have granted Rs 27,000 crore through the Rythu Bhrosa scheme alone," claimed the CM.
