Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated at a solar energy meeting that electricity would be the most important factor in making the state a trillion-dollar economy.
"It is noteworthy that with investors from both within and outside the country coming to Uttar Pradesh to invest in the state as a result of the Yogi Government's industry-friendly policies, the demand for electricity in the state is likely to rise significantly in the near future to run industrial activities," said CM Yogi Adityanath.
As a result, CM Yogi has directed officials to focus on solar energy to meet the rising electricity demand. The Yogi government has also introduced a new Uttar Pradesh Solar Energy Policy-2022, which includes many concessions for investors in the sector. The Yogi government plans to build 18 solar cities to increase solar energy production.
According to an official statement, Noida and Ayodhya will be developed as solar cities first, followed by the development of the state's 16 municipal corporations. During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that solar cities will account for 10% of total power generation in the state. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on increasing solar power generation yearly to make cheap electricity available to the people of UP, including investors.
A solar park is being built rapidly in the Bundelkhand region to increase solar energy production. "A solar park is being built here, which will produce 4000 MW of electricity daily. On the other hand, green corridors will be built to supply solar energy to various districts throughout the state.
Solar energy will be supplied from the electricity feeder intended for agriculture and rural supply in the first phase of the solar park. As a result, solar energy will first illuminate the villages of UPO. In addition, the pumps used for field irrigation will be entirely powered by solar energy, according to CM Yogi.
