The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert to the public in Himachal Pradesh before the coming of severe or hazardous weather which is believed to cause damage, danger or widespread disruption to life.
Today i.e. on 10th May 2019 and 11th May 2019, thunderstorm accompanied by hailstorm and gusty winds in the plains, lower and middle hills is likely to take place.
The predictions are also of severe heat wave conditions over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Telangana for the next 48 hours.
However, in Delhi, the maximum temperature is expected to touch 41-degrees Celsius today and strong gusty winds are likely to happen throughout the day.
The weather office has predicted an increase in rainfall over many parts of northwest India, northeast and peninsular India from 10th May 2019. Heavy rainfall is likely to take place at isolated places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
In Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim the persisting cyclonic circulation over northeastern India along with the incursion of moist southerly winds will cause heavy rain and thunderstorms. Likewise, isolated rainfall and thunderstorms are possible over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
The fresh WD and its induced cyclonic circulation will continuously bring fairly widespread rain or snow and thunderstorms over Jammu and Kashmir. Though, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience scattered rain and snowfall.
Plains of north India including Haryana, Punjab and Delhi will also receive scattered rainfall, thunderstorms and dust storms during this time-period. Similarly, isolated rainfall, thunderstorms and dust storms are also possible over Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
In down south also isolated rainfall and thunderstorms are likely over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
