WWF-India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), recently concluded a series of awareness activities during Wildlife Week, held from the 2nd to the 8th of October, as part of their Mission LiFE initiative.

The main objective behind these initiatives was to underscore the critical importance of wildlife conservation and the role it plays in maintaining the delicate balance of our natural environment, especially among students from various schools in Delhi. This year's theme for Wildlife Week was ‘Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation.’

Under the mandate of the Programme Centre at WWF-India, MoEF&CC, their primary focus is on wildlife conservation, encompassing both species and habitat, utilizing state-of-the-art geospatial techniques. The Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme (EIACP) Resource Partner at WWF-India was established with the purpose of collecting, collating, storing, retrieving, and disseminating information. Their work aims to support and foster research, development, and innovation among decision-makers, researchers, academicians, policy planners, research scientists, and other stakeholders.

During Wildlife Week, students from multiple schools in Delhi were given insightful presentations about the significance of Wildlife Week and the central theme, ‘Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation.’ The WWF-India team effectively communicated the core message of Mission LiFE through a compelling 12-minute documentary video.

To show their commitment, both students and teachers took a pledge to actively engage in wildlife conservation efforts and combat climate change by adopting eco-friendly lifestyle choices.

These educational activities left a profound impact on the students, who displayed a keen interest in delving deeper into the realms of wildlife conservation and the imperative of adopting eco-friendly practices to mitigate climate change. In total, approximately 864 individuals, primarily students, participated in these enlightening awareness activities.
