
Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is all set to host the fourth edition of World Food India (WFI) 2025 from September 25 to 28 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event will bring together participants from more than 21 countries, 21 Indian states and Union Territories, 10 central ministries, and five allied government organisations, making it the largest gathering of food processing stakeholders in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on September 25 at 6:00 PM. The inaugural session will also see the presence of Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Chirag Paswan, and Ravneet Singh Bittu, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Railways.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan described World Food India as a “transformative platform” aimed at positioning India as a global hub for food innovation, investment, and sustainability. He said the event reflects India’s commitment to building future-ready, inclusive, and sustainable food systems.
World Food India 2025 will feature over 1,700 exhibitors, more than 500 international buyers, and representatives from over 100 nations. New Zealand and Saudi Arabia are partner countries, while Japan, Russia, UAE, and Vietnam are focus countries. The event will host more than 45 knowledge sessions, including state- and country-specific conferences and CXO roundtables with over 100 global agri-food leaders.
Parallel events will include the 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit by FSSAI, the 24th India International Seafood Show highlighting India’s seafood export potential, and a Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet organised by APEDA with over 1,000 buyers. Special exhibitions will showcase international and state pavilions, a Pet Food Pavilion, Technology Pavilion, and MoFPI Start-up Innovation Pavilion.
This year’s edition will focus on five key areas: sustainability and net-zero food processing, positioning India as a global food processing hub, innovations in food processing and packaging technologies, food for nutrition and wellness, and livestock and marine products to boost the rural economy.
Ahead of the event, Chirag Paswan also launched a publication titled “Frequently Asked Questions on Different Concepts of Food Processing” to provide science-based information and dispel myths around processed foods.
World Food India 2025 is expected to be a landmark platform, showcasing India’s growing role in global food processing while fostering international collaboration and investment opportunities.
