Government is all set to host the fourth edition of World Food India (WFI) from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. As a preview to the mega event, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) organised a Curtain Raiser on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at The Lalit, New Delhi. The occasion was marked by the launch of the official WFI 2025 brochure, mobile application, and website by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Paswan said World Food India is not just a trade event, but a key platform for showcasing India’s potential as a global hub for food innovation and investment. “This event reflects our commitment to building a sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready food system, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the sector,” he said.

The minister said the 2025 edition is expected to be the biggest so far, with over 90 countries and more than 2,000 exhibitors likely to participate. Tens of thousands of stakeholders across the food value chain, from farm to fork, are also expected to attend. Paswan stressed that with continued support from all stakeholders, the event would scale new heights and boost innovation in India’s food processing industry.

MoFPI Secretary Avinash Joshi highlighted the food processing sector’s contribution to the economy, particularly in the processing of milk, millets, and pulses. He said World Food India 2025 will feature dedicated technology showcases, buyer-seller meets, and CEO roundtables to promote international collaboration and investment.

Ministry also presented key themes of the upcoming summit through a detailed presentation. The event also witnessed the release of a promotional video highlighting India’s agricultural and processing sector milestones.

The Curtain Raiser served as a platform to set the tone for WFI 2025, underlining India’s ambitions in food security, sustainability, and value chain transformation. Aligned with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and Vision India@2047, the summit aims to attract global investors, encourage tech-driven growth, and foster inclusive development in the food sector.

FICCI will serve as the national event partner, while Ernst & Young LLP has been named the knowledge partner for World Food India 2025. The launch event was attended by senior officials from various Central Ministries, state governments, and foreign embassies.
