The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is gearing up to host World Food India 2024, a monumental event taking place from September 19-22 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Spanning a massive 70,000 square meters, this global showcase will bring together over 90 countries, 26 Indian States and Union Territories, and 18 Central Ministries and government bodies, marking India's growing prominence in the global food processing industry.
World Food India 2024: A Global Platform for Innovation & Collaboration
World Food India 2024 is set to be a landmark occasion, creating a dynamic platform for innovation, technology, and sustainability in the food processing sector. The four-day event will spotlight India’s strides in this field, with participation from a diverse array of international and domestic stakeholders, setting the stage for future collaborations and partnerships.
The event will be attended by key Indian leaders, including Prahlad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New and Renewable Energy, and Chirag Paswan, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries. Additionally, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Ministry of Railways, will engage in one-on-one discussions with industry leaders and hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers and delegations.
Chirag Paswan will address the gathering at World Food India to outline government initiatives and future plans aimed at boosting India’s food processing industry. A high-level CEO roundtable, co-chaired by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, and Chirag Paswan, will further strengthen collaboration between industry and government.
Key Events at World Food India & Focus Areas
The event will also feature the 2nd Global Food Regulators Summit, organized by FSSAI from September 20-21. APEDA, MPEDA, and various commodity boards will host a Reverse Buyer Seller Meet, with over 1,000 buyers expected to attend. Japan is the official partner country for the event, while Vietnam and Iran will serve as focus countries.
Participants will benefit from over 40 knowledge sessions, including thematic discussions, state and country-specific conferences, and panel discussions led by global agri-food industry leaders. Additionally, over 100 CXOs from top companies will engage in discussions aimed at driving innovation and sustainability in the food processing industry.
Exhibitions and Special Pavilions
The exhibition space will feature multiple pavilions, including international showcases, State and Central Ministries exhibits, and a Pet Food Pavilion. Hall 14 will house MoFPI’s initiatives, including startup innovations, while the Technology Pavilion will highlight cutting-edge advancements in food processing, with a focus on automation, food safety, and sustainable packaging solutions. To further engage attendees, the Swaad Sutra culinary contest will celebrate India’s diverse regional cuisines, adding a unique cultural dimension to the event.
