Here comes the good news from the instant messenger app, Whatsapp! Now you can access the Facebook Messenger Rooms which allow group video calls of up to 50 people with no time limit through WhatsApp on the desktop. Facebook has also integrated Messenger rooms with WhatsApp on the Web.
It will allow users to connect with their friends and family through Messenger Rooms from their desktops and laptops.
It is to be noted that, the Facebook Messenger Rooms integration is still to arrive on WhatsApp on mobile. However, there was no official word on Messenger rooms arriving on WhatsApp for the Web but different users have reported the access on social media platforms.
In May, Facebook has launched the video conferencing tool Messenger Rooms to take on Zoom & other video platforms. In Messenger Rooms of Facebook, the users can post links in their News Feed or in event pages or Groups.
From Messenger, rooms can be created which allows people to share links to invite anyone to join, even if they do not have an account on Facebook. A new tool for users has also been introduced now to broadcast live to Facebook from Messenger Rooms. This feature was rolled out in few countries on Facebook and Messenger web last week. According to a news report in IANS, it will soon be expanded to all countries where Messenger Rooms is available as well as to the Facebook and Messenger mobile app & Messenger desktop app.
Over 700 million accounts participate in calls every day between WhatsApp and Messenger. In several countries, video calling on Messenger and WhatsApp is more than doubled & views of Facebook Live and Instagram Live videos has been increased rapidly.
