Weekend Weather Alert!!!! Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorm Likely in All These States; Temperature to Go Down

Starting with North India, in the wake of dry northwesterly storm or breeze, the weather in entire North India that will include the hills and plains will remain dry.

However, due to the advancement of south west monsoon further in north, conditions have become favourable for rainfall over the region. Isolated rain & thunderstorms are likely over many states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking about Mumbai Monsoon, a trough is extending from Southern part of Gujarat to Northern Karnataka Coast. As a result, there can be moderate Monsoon rainfall with heavy spells over Konkan & Goa and also in Mumbai. Moreover, Gujarat, southeast Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra & Marathwada will also have light to moderate Monsoon rainfall.

Coming towards East/Northeast India, an east-west trough is extending from the foothills of Bihar and going towards Nagaland across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Assam. Hence there will be light to moderate Monsoon showers with few heavy spells over Sikkim, Assam and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Scattered rains will continue over remaining northeast states. The intensity of rainfall might increase over Gangetic West Bengal, Kolkata and Odisha. In the meantime, Monsoon will stay subdued in Bihar, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh.

Finally in the Southern part of India, Monsoon rains will become subdued over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka. However, there is a possibility of scattered rains over parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. Little moderate spells is also likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and North Interior Karnataka.

Heat wave conditions are highly unlikely for the next few days as many parts of the country have already begun to experience rainfall.
