Weather Warning: Delhiites woke up to a sunny Monday morning, even though the minimum temperature recorded in the morning was at 20.2 degrees Celsius. The humidity was recorded at 74 percent.
Thunderstorm and very light rain are predicted by the weather department for the day, which will be accompanied with gusty winds reaching at the speed of 30-40 km/hr in some parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
Weather Warning: Meteorological Department
According to the Meteorological Department official, "The sky was clear in morning. Thunderstorm with rain is likely to take place later in the day. Delhi has received 6.2 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.”
The maximum temperature today is likely to be recorded at around 37 degrees Celsius. However, the mercury is expected to rise from Tuesday.
Adding to it, rain and dust storm has led to the diversion of five flights to Lucknow which were initially scheduled to land at Delhi's IGI Airport between 8 PM to 10 PM.
Weather Warning: Flights Diverted
As per information by the IGI airport officials, “Two Vistara flights, two Air India flights and one flight of the Gulf Air were diverted to Lucknow airport.”
Delhi was yesterday swept by a dust storm followed by light rain showers. The storm led to a slight dip in temperature. It gave way to a pleasant weather in Delhi-NCR on Sunday evening. The maximum temperature was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius in Delhi, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 20.6 degrees Celsius.
