As March unfolds, a complex weather pattern develops over the Indian subcontinent, driven by a western disturbance exerting its influence over several regions, according to the India Meteorological Department. Moreover, the spring season has contributed to a rise in temperatures across the country, keeping most parts dry.
The weather agency has predicted a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius for today in New Delhi. The maximum temperature in the capital city is likely to rise to 26 degrees Celsius on Friday, while the minimum temperature may stay the same with a clear sky.
Scattered Rainfall in North India
In the northernmost parts of the subcontinent, including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad, as well as Himachal Pradesh, light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are expected today. Uttarakhand may also experience rainfall and snowfall over some places, during this period.
This disturbance is expected to bring isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall and snowfall to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh, with isolated activity likely over Uttarakhand from Sunday till Tuesday.
Sub-Himalayan and Neighboring Regions
A cyclonic circulation hovers over south Odisha in the lower tropospheric levels. This circulation is anticipated to trigger isolated rainfall over Odisha till Saturday, extending its influence over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim until Friday.
Arunachal Pradesh is also likely to experience scattered light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over the next two days, with isolated activity expected over the subsequent five days.
Humidity in Southern Parts
While the northern regions contend with precipitation, a different weather scenario unfolds in the southern parts of the country. Rayalaseema and Kerala are likely to experience hot and humid conditions over the next two days, offering a stark contrast to the cooler and wetter conditions in the north.
As the season is transitioning from winter to spring and summer, all parts of India are expected to have a temperature rise. The weather forecast is beneficial for farmers, weather experts, and citizens alike, helping them to make appropriate decisions in the coming days.
