Heavy rain is expected in central India over the next few days. Active monsoon conditions are expected over central India over the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Meanwhile, light rain is expected to fall over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the northeastern states over the next two days.
The monsoon trough is active and has moved south of its usual location. During the next few days, it is likely to be active and oscillate around its normal position. The IMD forecasted heavy rain in India's central and western regions.

Isolated heavy rain is expected in east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on August 14, and in west Madhya Pradesh on August 15 and 16. Meanwhile, extremely heavy rain is expected in east Madhya Pradesh on August 15.
Heavy rain is expected in India's eastern and northeastern regions. "Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya on the 13th & 14th; Gangetic West Bengal on the 14th; Odisha on the 12th-15th; and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, & Tripura on the 12th-14th August 2022 Isolated very heavy rain is also expected over Odisha on August 13, with extremely heavy rain expected on August 14.
Rainfall is expected in southern Indian states such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Rainfall will be scattered to fairly widespread, with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms or lightning over coastal Andhra Pradesh on August 13 and 14, and over Telangana on August 14.
Heavy rain is also forecast for the northern and northwest states. "Scattered/fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Punjab and Uttar Pradesh on 14th; West Rajasthan on 12th, 13th, 15th, and 16th; and over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana on 14th and 15th August, 2022." On the 15th and 16th of August, there is a chance of isolated heavy rain in several parts of Rajasthan.
