The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its weather forecast for the upcoming week, indicating mild weather for most of the country, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in certain southern regions. The report highlights a weakened low-pressure system and an upper-air cyclonic circulation over Odisha, which are impacting the weather in surrounding regions.

Most regions across India can expect stable, mild weather conditions for the next seven days, with no significant changes anticipated.

Kerala and the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal region are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas over the coming days. The IMD warns of thunderstorms and lightning in select southern states, particularly Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and the Lakshadweep islands.

On October 26, a well-marked low-pressure system over north Odisha began to weaken, transitioning to a low-pressure system by the evening (1730 hrs IST) and further dissipating early on October 27. However, an upper-air cyclonic circulation continues to linger over Odisha, extending up to middle tropospheric levels and affecting weather patterns in the vicinity.
