Weather Update: IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Across Several States, Depression Likely to Form Near Odisha Coast

India Meteorological Department has forecast extremely heavy rainfall, strong winds, and possible thunderstorms across several regions, with a depression likely to form near the Odisha coast. Delhi/NCR is expected to experience cloudy skies with light rain and moderate winds over the next few days.

Weather Update: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong winds across several states in the coming days. A well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a depression. The states likely to experience extremely heavy rainfall include Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Odisha, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, and Gujarat. Meanwhile, the monsoon remains active over southern Peninsular India and parts of adjoining central India. Here are the details:

West India Weather Outlook

Extremely heavy rainfall is forecast at isolated places over Konkan & Goa and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on 19th August. Gujarat is expected to experience similar conditions on 19th and 20th August.
