The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog in northern India, heavy rain in parts of the south, and a gradual dip in temperatures in the northwest on November 18, 2024. While smog continues to affect Delhi, southern states brace for thunderstorms and isolated heavy rainfall. Here’s what to expect.

Cyclonic Activity in the Arabian Sea

A cyclonic circulation over the Maldives and a trough extending to the southeast Arabian Sea are driving weather changes, particularly in South India. Squally winds are expected in the southeast Arabian Sea and surrounding areas.

The southern states are expected to experience wet conditions due to the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the Maldives and a trough extending into the southeast Arabian Sea.
