Weather Update: Cyclonic Circulation to Bring Rain to Northeast India, Cold Wave in Himachal, and Temperature Swings Across North and Central India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a mix of weather conditions across India, including rainfall in the northeast, cold wave conditions in Himachal Pradesh, and dense fog in parts of West Bengal and Sikkim. While temperatures in North and East India are expected to dip before gradually rising again, West and Central India will remain stable with a slight warming trend. Rainfall and Snowfall Forecast

A cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam is expected to influence weather conditions in the region, bringing rainfall and snowfall to Arunachal Pradesh.     

Temperature Trends Across India

1. Minimum Temperature Forecast

• No significant change in minimum temperature over the Western Himalayan Region for the next three days, followed by a 1-2°C rise.

• Northwest India will experience a 1-2°C drop, while East India may see a 3-4°C drop in the next two days, followed by a gradual rise.

• Central India will witness a 1-3°C fall in minimum temperature over the next 24 hours, followed by a 2-4°C rise over the next four days.

• No major temperature changes are expected in West India for the next three days, followed by a 2-3°C rise.

2. Maximum Temperature Forecast

• Northwest India (except Uttar Pradesh): Gradual fall by 1-2°C in the next two days, followed by a 2-3°C rise.

• Uttar Pradesh: A 2-4°C drop in the next two days, followed by a gradual rise.

• West, Central, and East India: No significant change in the next 2-3 days, followed by a 2-3°C rise.

Fog and Cold Wave Alerts

1. Fog Warnings

Dense fog conditions are expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during the early morning hours until 15th February.

2. Cold Wave Warnings

Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience cold wave conditions in isolated pockets on 14th February.

Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast (14th - 16th February 2025)

Delhi-NCR is set to experience clear to partly cloudy skies with fluctuating temperatures and moderate winds in the coming days. While daytime conditions will remain pleasant, wind speeds and temperature variations may influence early morning and nighttime weather.

Residents in northeast India should stay alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms, while those in Himachal Pradesh should prepare for cold wave conditions. Delhi and North-Central India can expect temperature fluctuations, so dressing in layers is advised.
