IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall and Strong Wind Alerts Across Multiple States Including Bihar, Maharashtra, Goa, Assam and Northeast

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across several regions of the country in the coming days. Delhi/NCR will remain partly cloudy with chances of very light rain on September 13 and 14.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted an increase in rainfall activity across various regions of the country this week. The northeast, eastern states, and some parts of the peninsula are expected to experience heavy to very heavy showers. Specifically, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, and Meghalaya are likely to receive intense rainfall. Meanwhile, the southern states are preparing for a prolonged wet spell. Additionally, Maharashtra is anticipated to see heightened rainfall activity in the coming days. Here are the details

Northeast India: Heavy Rainfall Alerts in Several States

Northeast India is expected to experience widespread rainfall over the next week. Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms will occur at most places, while isolated heavy and very heavy rainfall is expected in several states. Residents are advised to take precautions, particularly in flood-prone areas.

South India will experience widespread rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema may witness winds up to 40 kmph over the next five days. Farmers and fishermen are advised to take necessary precautions.
