India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an active monsoon spell over South India and the west coast, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Konkan & Goa. Isolated extremely heavy rain is also likely in some areas. At the same time, intense heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are set to continue across Northwest India, including parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and the Western Himalayan Region, before likely subsiding later this week. The weather department has issued alerts for thunderstorms, strong winds, and hot, humid conditions across several states. Here are the details

Southern India: Intense Rainfall and Gusty Winds Ahead

Due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over the westcentral Bay of Bengal and a trough stretching from northeast Rajasthan, the southern peninsula is set for significant weather activity. Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu will be the main focus areas for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the coming days.
