India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued its latest weather forecast and warnings for the coming days, highlighting active monsoon systems and region-wise rainfall expectations. The presence of multiple low-pressure systems and cyclonic circulations will impact rainfall patterns across India, with some regions likely to witness very heavy rainfall. Here are the details
Monsoon Systems Overview
Currently, the western end of the monsoon trough lies south of its normal position, while the eastern end is near normal. A depression over southeast Pakistan is moving westwards over the northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Pakistan. It is expected to weaken gradually into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 6 hours.
Additionally, upper air cyclonic circulations are observed over South Odisha & adjoining north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and over Sikkim & its surroundings. Troughs are also active from South Interior Karnataka to the Gulf of Mannar, and along longitude 86°E north of latitude 22°N. These systems are influencing rainfall activity across India.
