IMD predicted a mixed weather pattern across India with heavy rains, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in the East and Northeast, while heatwave conditions are set to intensify in parts of North and Central India. Delhi is likely to see some relief with cloudy skies and light rain in the coming days.

India is expected to experience a mix of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, hailstorms, and intense heatwave conditions across different regions, according to the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The active weather systems, especially a well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, are influencing the patterns in both southern and northern parts of the country. Rainfall and Thunderstorm Alerts Across Regions

Several weather systems are in play, including a well-marked low-pressure area over the west-central Bay of Bengal, multiple troughs, and upper air cyclonic circulations over Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan. These systems are expected to bring moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in the following regions.

A Western Disturbance in the mid-tropospheric levels is also impacting northern India, especially the hilly states. Combined with a trough from West Rajasthan to Vidarbha, it is expected to bring rainfall, hailstorms, and even dust storms.

Heatwave and Warm Night Conditions Grip Northwest and Central India

While rainfall continues in several parts, heatwave conditions are intensifying in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, with temperatures soaring above normal. Some places may also experience warm nights and hot, humid conditions, especially in western India and parts of the South.

Delhi/NCR Weather Forecast

Delhi has witnessed a 3°C rise in minimum temperature and a 1°C rise in maximum temperature, with values reaching 41°C (max) and 26°C (min). These temperatures are 5–6°C above normal, resulting in heatwave and warm night conditions.
