
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh forecasts warning of widespread rainfall across several regions of the country. A deep depression over Southeast Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan is driving heavy to very heavy rainfall over parts of Southwest Rajasthan, North Gujarat, and Saurashtra & Kutch, with the possibility of extremely heavy falls at isolated locations.
Meanwhile, eastern and northeastern states, including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur, are also set to experience heavy downpours, while Odisha is likely to see another spell of intense rain. Here are the details

A deep depression over North Gujarat and adjoining Southwest Rajasthan has intensified and is currently moving towards Southeast Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan & Kutch. Under its influence, several western and northwestern states are likely to witness heavy rainfall in the next few days.

The depression is expected to gradually weaken after moving westwards across southeast Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan. Residents of low-lying areas are advised to take precautions against waterlogging.

Central and eastern India will experience light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy showers in several areas. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar are likely to see the most significant rainfall in the coming days.
