India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an updated forecast highlighting widespread rainfall across many regions of the country due to active monsoon conditions. A low-pressure system over Central India, coupled with cyclonic circulations and a western disturbance, is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and Delhi/NCR in the coming days. Let’s take a closer look at the region-wise forecast from September 5 to September 10, 2025.

West India: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa to See Intense Showers

West India will be under the influence of strong monsoon systems with heavy rainfall continuing till September 8. Gujarat, particularly the Saurashtra and Kutch regions, will be the hotspot for extremely heavy rainfall between September 6 and 7.

Northeastern states may see prolonged rainfall, which could raise flood concerns in low-lying areas.

IMD continues to monitor these systems closely, and timely updates will be crucial for agriculture, travel, and urban planning in the coming days.
