The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted an active weather pattern across various regions of the country due to multiple cyclonic circulations and troughs. Thunderstorms, dust storms, rainfall, and strong surface winds are expected in many states until May 3, 2025. Special warnings have been issued for heat wave conditions and the possibility of hailstorms. Here are the details
Weather Systems in Place
Multiple weather systems are currently causing widespread weather activity across India. These systems include a cyclonic circulation over northern Bangladesh, another over the northern coastal area of Andhra Pradesh, a trough in the westerlies along the longitude of 85°E, and a cyclonic circulation over southwestern Rajasthan that extends down as a trough to northern Kerala.
Collectively, these systems are leading to widespread rain, thunderstorms, hailstorms, and gusty winds in the eastern, central, northwestern, south peninsular, and northeastern regions of the country.
