The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert, predicting thunderstorms, hailstorms, heavy rainfall, and heatwaves across several parts of the country. Strong winds and fluctuating temperatures are expected in the coming days, impacting regions from Central and South India to the northeast and coastal areas. Here are the details

Cyclonic Circulation and Weather Systems

A cyclonic circulation is currently positioned over Marathwada and its surrounding areas in the lower tropospheric levels. Additionally, a north-south trough extends from Marathwada to North Tamil Nadu via interior Karnataka, further intensifying the weather activity.

Due to these systems and the confluence of moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected in several states. The IMD forecasts heavy rainfall, hailstorms, and significant temperature variations in the coming days.
