Cyclonic Circulation and Weather Systems
A cyclonic circulation is currently positioned over Marathwada and its surrounding areas in the lower tropospheric levels. Additionally, a north-south trough extends from Marathwada to North Tamil Nadu via interior Karnataka, further intensifying the weather activity.
Due to these systems and the confluence of moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected in several states. The IMD forecasts heavy rainfall, hailstorms, and significant temperature variations in the coming days.
