Amidst the changing weather pattern, farmers in north India are receiving a good source of irrigation for their crops, thanks to the unseasonal rain. Fairly widespread rain and thundershower is continuously happening for the last two days over many parts of Northern plains particularly Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh. Some northern parts of Rajasthan have also seen showers in a scattered way.

As the Western Disturbance is moving away eastwards, the rain activities are reduced over the Northern Rajasthan during the last 24 hours but are expected to remain in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi. For many days the Cyclonic Circulation is traveling over different regions, leading to troughs. Now, as the systems are moving away eastwards, its induced Cyclonic Circulation is also moving over foothills of Himalayas while a trough is extending from Punjab to Bihar across northern parts of Uttar Pradesh.

According to Skymet Weather, rains are expected over some parts of Northwest Uttar Pradesh like Saharanpur, Muzzaffarnagar, Nazibabad, etc until today afternoon. One or two places over northern districts of Punjab and Haryana also to expect some rainfall until afternoon. The southern regions of Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, and Haryana will be spared from the rain activities as of now, and by the evening, the skies in the Northern plains will clear up from the ongoing rain activities.

Temperatures might also drop because of the northwesterly winds blowing over many parts of Punjab and Haryana. The minimum temperatures are expected to get reduced by two-three degrees over both days. Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh shall also expect a drop in minimum temperatures by 3-4 degrees.

For the next five days, no significant changes in the weather systems are expected. So it is likely that the weather of the Northern Plains might remain dry and cold. After 48 hours, skies might seem clearer and temperatures might get up due to brighter sunshine.
