Weather India: Thundershowers & Gutsy Wind Likely over These States in Next 2 Days due to Western Disturbance

A Low-Pressure area [remaining of the Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘NISARGA’] lies over Bihar & adjoining Northeast Uttar Pradesh with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of the Western Disturbance, scattered to fairly widespread rain/thundershowers are very likely to continue over western Himalayan region and scattered rain/thundershowers over plains of northwest India during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.

A Low-Pressure area [remaining of the Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘NISARGA’] lies over Bihar & adjoining Northeast Uttar Pradesh with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of the Western Disturbance, scattered to fairly widespread rain/thundershowers are very likely to continue over western Himalayan region and scattered rain/thundershowers over plains of northwest India during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter. Isolated thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty wind are likely over these regions during the next 24 hours, says the Indian Meteorological Department reports in its morning bulletin. 

Heavy Rain & thundershowers to Lash over These Regions during Next 2 Days 

Widespread rain/thundershowers along the west coast and Isolated to Scattered rainfall activity over Gujarat State, Interior Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu during next 3-4 days. Isolated heavy falls also very likely over Kerala and Konkan & Goa during next 2 days. 

Conditions are becoming favourable for further advancement of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Southwest & Eastcentral Bay of Bengal; entire Southeast Bay of Bengal and some parts of West-central Bay of Bengal during next 2 days. 

As per yesterday’s reports, rain/thundershowers observed at most places over Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala & Mahe, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. 

Thunderstorm observed (from 1730 hours IST of yesterday to 0530 hours IST of today): at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand. 

As per yesterday’s reports, maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch while minimum temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Rayalaseema and at isolated places over Odisha and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal.
