Light showers and the gusty wind has given some relief from the scorching heat since yesterday evening. The weather has become pleasant in many areas of the country including Delhi NCR after rain and strong winds in many areas on Thursday evening. People got relief from the scorching heat due to rain and strong wind. The weather has changed due to a western disturbance which dropped the temperature up to 6 degrees. As per the IMD forecast, dust storm, thunderstorm and rain may lash over across the country in the coming days.

Under the influence of a Western Disturbance and an east-west trough in lower tropospheric levels, rain/thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, hail & squall at isolated places have occurred over Western Himalaya Region & adjoining plains during last 24 hours. As a result, maximum temperatures over plains of north India and central & west India have fallen by 3-4°C during past 24 hours
Maximum temperatures have fallen by 5-7°C over Uttar Pradesh, North Haryana and North Punjab during Past 24 hours. Prevailing heatwave conditions have abated from most parts of the country. The heatwave conditions are very likely to abate from remaining parts of the country from today. Rain/thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, hail & squall at isolated places are very likely over Western Himalaya Region & adjoining plains during 29th-30th May 2020, says the weather forecast report of Indian Meteorological Department.

Heatwave conditions observed at many parts of West Rajasthan
Heatwave conditions are observed at many parts of West Rajasthan; some parts of Vidarbha and at one or two pockets of East Rajasthan and Telangana.
As per yesterday’s reports, maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over West Rajasthan and Telangana while minimum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at a few places over West Rajasthan.
