The low-pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea persists. Associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels which is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over central parts of south Bay of Bengal on 15th May and further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over southwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal by 16th evening. It is very likely to move northwestwards initially till 17th and then re-curve north-northeastwards. Under its influence Squally weather conditions with wind speed of the order of up to 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to prevail over south & central Bay of Bengal on 15th, 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph on 16th and 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph on 17th over the same area, says the weather forecast of Indian Meteorological Department.

Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Gujarat while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra and South Interior Karnataka.
