Starting with North India, a Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan, due to which, there will be rainfall in Jammu & Kashmir. In the meantime, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will have very dry & hot weather with heat wave in isolated pockets. IMD says there will be no respite from heat for the next 2 days. Heat wave conditions continued in Delhi on Sunday, with the temperature soaring up to 46.2 degrees Celsius. It is set to break the 45-degree mark today. Delhi may get some relief from scorching heat as the weather department has predicted "dust storm / thunderstorm" for 11 and 12 June & "generally cloudy sky with light rain" for 13 June.
Coming towards central part of India, there will be light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers in South Madhya Maharashtra as well as Marathwada. Isolated places of North Madhya Maharashtra & Vidarbha will also experience rains.
Because of the prevalence of northwesterly dry & hot winds, hot weather conditions with heat wave will continue in parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. Isolated places in South Chhattisgarh will also get rain and thundershowers.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon has finally marked its onset in Kerala after almost one week delay. At the moment, conditions are also becoming favourable for the advancement of Southwest Monsoon into parts of Northeast India in the few hours. Monsoon will stay active and provide fairly widespread moderate to heavy rainfall along with thundershower activities over several parts of Kerala.
In addition, a well-marked low-pressure area is lying over Southeast & adjacent parts of East central Arabian Sea. This system will be escalating into a depression and is moving in north or northwest direction. An offshore trough is also extending from the Coast in Maharashtra to Kerala. Because of these systems, there will be moderate to heavy rainfall and thundershowers over South Maharashtra Coast, Goa and Karnataka. Parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, rest of Karnataka and Telangana would also witness showers.
In East/Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is lying over Northwest Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal. Warm and humid winds are prevailing over the northeastern states. Therefore, light to moderate rain & thundershowers will affect Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & northeast states. Some parts of Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand will also experience light rains.
