Many parts of the country are experiencing active monsoon these days where heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms has created havoc situations. The weather department of India moreover predicted that widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Telangana today and over Gujarat and Rajasthan till 23 August, 2020.
The Well Marked Low Pressure Area lies over East Madhya Pradesh & adjoining north Chhattisgarh. It is very likely to move nearly westwards across West Madhya Pradesh during next 3-4 days.
The monsoon trough is active and south of its normal position. An east-west shear zone runs roughly along Lat. 20°N across central India between 3.6 km & 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height.
These States Likely to Get Heavy Rain Today
Under the influence of above systems:
(i) Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Telangana today and over Gujarat and Rajasthan till 23 August, 2020.
(ii) Isolated extremely heavy falls are likely over west Madhya Pradesh on today; over East Rajasthan on 22nd August and over Gujarat state on 22nd & 23rd August, 2020.
Under the influence of likely formation of the Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal, rainfall activity is likely to increase over east & adjoining central India from 23rd August. Isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over Odisha during 23rd-25th August, over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal on 24th & 25th August; and over Chhattisgarh & East Madhya Pradesh on 25th August.
Moderate thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places very likely over Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam & Meghalaya and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during next 12 hours.

Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at
a few places over Arunachal Pradesh and at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya while Minimum temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places
over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala & Mahe .
