Weather Update
Starting with South India, here an off-shore trough is extending from North Bay of Bengal to Tamil Nadu coast. As a result, moderate rainfall with 1 or 2 heavy spells could occur over North coastal Tamil Nadu & neighboring parts of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
There will be light to moderate rains in Coastal Karnataka, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Meanwhile, rain activities in Kerala will now decrease & there will be light showers with 1 or 2 moderate spells.
On the other hand, a Western Disturbance is lying over North Pakistan & adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, people in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand will witness moderate to heavy rains which could even trigger cloudburst & flash floods. Heavy Rainfall is expected in Jammu, Udhampur, Kangra, Dehradun, Dharamshala, Bilaspur, Una, Haridwar and Nainital.
In addition, there will be a significant increase in rain activities over North Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. Karnal, Chandigarh, Ambala, Ludhiana, Hisar, Jhunjhunu and Sikar will see good showers.
Rain in Delhi
Delhi& NCR and Western part of Uttar Pradesh will also witness moderate rains with one or two heavy spells in the weekend. Temperature in Delhi is quite pleasant since past 2-3 days.
A Cyclonic Circulation is visible over North Bangladesh and adjoining regions. A Trough is also extending from East Uttar Pradesh towards this Circulation. Therefore, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells is expected over West Bengal and Odisha. Jharkhand and few parts of Bihar will also experience light to moderate showers.
There will be scattered light rainfall with one or two moderate spells in East Uttar Pradesh and northeast India will witness light to moderate showers over few pockets.
Central parts of the country have already enjoyed good rainfall this year. Madhya Pradesh & interior Maharashtra will receive light rains at some places. The intensity of rainfall over Madhya Pradesh will retreat now.
Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, few places of Vidarbha & Gujarat region will get scattered light to moderate rains in the weekend.
