Weather Alert! Heavy Rain to Lash over These States; 1.3 Million Affected in Assam Flood

A cyclonic circulation lies over East Uttar Pradesh & neighborhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level and a north-south through runs from northeast Bihar to north coastal Odisha between 2.1 & 3.6 Km above mean sea level. Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Assam & Meghalaya during next 5 days.

Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Assam & Meghalaya during next 5 days. Isolated heavy to very heavy falls also very likely over the above areas on today, the 29th June 2020 and isolated heavy rain thereafter, says the weather forecast report in its morning bulletin.

Over 9.5 Lakh Severely Affected in Assam Flood

As per the recent reports, the flood has created a total havoc situation in the Northeastern state Assam which severely affected 9.5 lakhs and took the lives of at least 20 people since yesterday.

The Brahmaputra river in Guwahati is flowing above the danger level and more rain is likely in the next few days, the weather office has said. 

Heavy Rain to Lash over These States on 2nd & 3rd July

Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall very likely over central India during next 5 days. Isolated heavy falls also very likely over Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh during the next 5 days and over Vidarbha on 2nd & 3rd July 2020.

Widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy falls very likely to continue along the west coast during next 5 days and increase in intensity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls thereafter over Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka.

Subdued rainfall activity over Western Himalayan Region and adjoining northwest India very likely to continue during next 3-4 days and its distribution & intensity very likely to increase thereafter.

Maximum & Minimum Temperature

Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Madhya Maharashtra and North interior Karnataka; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Rajasthan, Konkan & Goa and Gujarat while minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi; at a few places over Uttarakhand and at isolated places over Gujarat and Rajasthan.
