Starting with Northern part of India – dry weather will continue over entire north as well as northwest India due to the absence of any significant weather system. Heat wave conditions are likely over few states that include Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh.

Because of dry and warm northwesterly winds, weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat will remain parched and very hot. Heat wave will prevail in scattered regions of Madhya Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. However, owing to a cyclonic circulation over South Chhattisgarh, there may be light rainfall in the region. The maximum temperature in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra will be 45°C or more.

Now coming towards, East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is lying over East Bihar while another cyclonic circulation is over Assam and neighboring area. Therefore, there could be light to moderate showers over Sikkim, West Assam and Meghalaya.

Light rainfalls are expected over few places of remaining northeast states. On the other hand, West Bengal and few parts of Bihar might also receive isolated light rainfall. Meanwhile, weather in Bihar, Jharkhand and several parts of Odisha will be dry & hot.

Talking about southern part of country – the Southwest Monsoon is going to miss its regular onset date of 1st June in Kerala  and will not reach the state before 5 or 6 June. But because of the trough extending across Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, scattered light to moderate rainfall will continue over South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and isolated parts of Rayalaseema & Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Temperature of Telangana will be very hot with heat wave conditions over many areas. The temperature here will be 45°C or even more.

Quality of air will be very poor over northern & eastern India, especially in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
