Weather Alert: Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Many Other States to Receive Rainfall Today

Good News for Delhiites! The national Capital is likely to receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm on Friday as per the India Meteorological Department forecast. Light to moderate rain or drizzle has also been forecasted for Saturday and chances are that Delhi will get monsoonal showers only after a week.

Delhi Weather Update:

Good News for Delhiites! The national Capital is likely to receive rainfall accompanied by  thunderstorm on Friday as per the India Meteorological Department forecast. Light to moderate rain or drizzle has also been forecasted for Saturday and chances are that Delhi will get monsoonal showers only after a week.

The lowest temperature on Friday is predicted to be 28 degrees Celsius whereas the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 38 degrees Celsius.

Air quality of Delhi was in the moderate category on Friday morning. The latest data from Central Pollution Control Board clearly showed that the hourly air quality index (AQI) at 7 am stood at 140. The average 24- hour AQI stood at 146 in the moderate category on Thursday.

Union Ministry of Earth Science’s Air Quality Monitoring Centre, System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (Safar) said, “The overall Delhi air quality is in the moderate category as forecasted. Surface winds are moderate and east-north-easterly. Although ventilation is favorable for dispersion, an increase in dust long-range transport is expected for the next three days. AQI is likely to stay in the moderate category with PM10 as the lead pollutant for the next three days.”

Weather Update in India:

Scattered rain and thunderstorm is predicted over east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.

Widespread rain and thunderstorms are possible over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura. Isolated heavy spells are possible over some local areas of these regions and east Bihar.

Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Sikkim, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.

Isolated rain accompanied by snow are likely over Ladakh region. Isolated rain and thunderstorms are predicted over Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand , Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be above 40°C in some parts of Rajasthan , Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh.
