The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the notification for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025. This exam is required for candidates who want to apply for various Group B and Group C government jobs in Uttar Pradesh. Important Dates

The official notification was released on 2 May 2025. The online application process starts from 14 May 2025 and will continue until 17 June 2025. Candidates must pay the application fee by 17 June 2025. The correction window will be open until 24 June 2025. The exam date has not yet been announced but will be notified soon on the official website.

Application Process

To apply for the UPSSSC PET 2025, candidates must visit the official website of the commission, upsssc.gov.in. On the homepage, they need to go to the 'Applicant's Dashboard' and click on 'Apply Online'. First-time users must register by providing their personal information such as name, mobile number, email ID, and date of birth. After registration, they can log in using their credentials and fill in the detailed application form.

While filling out the form, candidates must carefully provide their academic details, address, and other relevant information. They must also upload a recent passport-sized photo and scanned signature in the prescribed format. After filling out all the sections, candidates must pay the application fee online. After successful payment, they can submit the form and take a printout for future reference.

Application Fee

The application fee is different for each category. General and OBC category candidates need to pay a total of 185 rupees. This includes 160 rupees as the registration fee and 25 rupees as online processing charges.

For SC and ST category candidates, the total fee is 95 rupees, which includes a registration fee of 70 rupees and 25 rupees as processing charges. Candidates belonging to the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category are exempted from the registration fee and only need to pay 25 rupees as processing charges.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have passed at least the Class 10 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. Those who have higher qualifications are also eligible to apply.

2. Age Limit:

The minimum age to apply for UPSSSC PET 2025 is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years as of 1 July 2025. Age relaxation is given to candidates from reserved categories as per government rules. Candidates who belong to the SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and other eligible groups can avail of the relaxation during the application process.

3. Selection Process

The selection process begins with the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET), which is a written exam. Based on the score in this test, candidates will be shortlisted for the main examination for specific posts. After the main exam, there may be an interview or a skill test depending on the nature of the job. The final stage is document verification where the candidate's eligibility and original certificates are checked.

4. Exam Pattern

The PET exam includes multiple-choice questions from different subjects. The paper carries a total of 100 marks. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. Subjects include Indian History, Indian National Movement, Geography, Indian Economy, Indian Constitution and Public Administration, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi, General English, Logical Reasoning, Current Affairs, and General Awareness.

There will also be questions related to comprehension, graph interpretation, and data analysis. These topics are included to test the candidate’s ability to understand, analyze, and present information correctly.

Important Instructions for Candidates

  1. Candidates must apply online. No offline application form will be accepted.

  2. The PET score will be valid for three years from the date of the result.

  3. The application form must be filled carefully. Any mistake may lead to rejection of the form.

  4. Candidates should keep the registration number and password safe for future use.

  5. Admit cards for the PET exam will be released a few days before the exam on the official website.

Do not wait until the last day to apply. Make sure your internet connection is stable while filling out the form.
