According to latest reports, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has postponed the UPPSC PCS Mains 2018 exam date.
The commission issued an official notice in this regard on its website on 30th May 2019, just a day after a raid at the UPPSC headquarters by UP STF team. The raid was made after the leak of question papers of 2 subjects of LT Grade Teachers Examination last year. The notice also stated that the exam was previously scheduled to be held on 17th June, 2019, which is now shifted to 21th June, 2019. It must be noted that the preliminary exam was held on 28th October, 2019 in Uttar Pradesh. As many as 6, 35,844 candidates have applied for the UPPSC PCS exam, out of which only 3, 98,630 had appeared for the preliminary examination.
UPPSC PCS Main Exam Pattern
The UPPSC PCS or Combined State Engineering Service Main Exam 2018 will comprise eight papers and the exam will continue for a week. The duration of UPPSC PCS exam is three hours and it will be conducted in two shifts - the 1st shift from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm while 2nd shift will be from 2 pm - 5 pm. The UPPSC PCS main exam will be in offline mode hence students will have to carry a blue pen while coming for the exam. The questions will be essay or descriptive type.
UPPSC PCS Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on the basis of - preliminary exam, main examination and personal interview. Applicants who clear or qualify in the prelims examination will have to appear for the mains, followed by personal round of interview.
The UPPSC PCS exam 2018 will fill up 917 posts in the organization. The posts that will be filled up through this recruitment drive include Assistant Forest Conservator, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Information Officer, Senior Lecturer, Labour Enforcement Officer etc.
